Plum Passes Unconstitutional Ordinance Allowing illegal Traffic Stops
Tags:
Some things never change but the citizens of Plum better wake up and pay attention are you aware that Plum council has initiated a new ordinance that allow the police to perform search and seizure with the freedom to pull your vehicle over with no probable cause? Many senior citizens have been pulled over right along with many others. Many of our senior citizens, your parents, have heart and lung conditions which puts excessive strain on their health. Believe me that it is happening, and of course Plum will not allow the local news to inform you of all the trouble it is causing.
Once again Plum will likely be sued for constitional violations as a result and Plum taxpayers will be footing the bill for damages. Remember that a violation of the constitution allows punitive remedies and judges punish with angry loud expensive verdicts to make a statement that local government will never be allowed to subvert Federal law. Any person pulled over for a routine traffic stop that has no legitimate reason for the stop is a likely candidate to bring suit against the borough of Plum, and it is quite likely that the Federal Department of Justice may once again be the prosecuting attorney, and for good reason. When a police officer exercises their authority to restrain an individual, there must be "probable cause" to restrain them. Since emotions and reactions of each individual varies from person to person, it is unpredictable how each encounter with police will turn out.
Because each stop by the police restricts our freedom, it can also expose each citizen to the possibility of the risk of being victimized or even brutalized, especially if you question their reason to have made the stop. Many times this alone is reason enough to anger many police officers. Our 6th ammendment right to "remain free from bodily harm or the threat thereof" will have been violated by any unwarranted traffic stop. Since police are under the threat of being sued at each stop, they can be inclined to make up an infraction to justify the stop. There have been many people reporting this is happening at an unprecedented level in Plum. If you have had similar experinces with Plum police, bring it to the attention of the public, otherwise these abuses will go unchecked and futher erode the public confidence of the judiciary.
If this has happened to you, contact the office of the Department of Justice who is currently investigating Plum Police for civil rights abuses. If you wish to file a complaint anonomously, you will be allowed to do so under what is known as the Federal Whistle Blower Laws. Several of the Plum police are still under a current FBI investigative probe for criminal actions as well as several civil rights abuses. There are several attorneys that are formulating data and are seeking to file a class action lawsuit to challenge the unconstitutional ordinance. The more people that report instances of unwarranted stops, the more liklihood that these abuses will be confronted and halted at a greater speed.
That is why we must not look the other way when you see flashing blue and red lights pulling vehicles over. Find a safe location and use you cell phones which are able to video catch these unlawful traffic stops. If you do not know how to videotape with your cell phone, ask a friend that can show you how. Many people have saved many others from harm because of just holding a cell phone in plain view that discourages people's unlawful actions. Many lawsuits are settled with them as well. It is only a matter of time until we have another Johnny Gammage like tragedy right here in Plum and these words become prophetic, and hopefully it will not be you as the victim, or a special loved one, such as a child or parent.
How can the citizens of Plum permit this to happen when our young men and women are fighting for democracy in the middle east? How many soldiers have died in the middle east, while our roads bridges and entire infrastructure is falling apart around Plum as well as the entire country.
Look what just happened in Plum. A gigantic gas line explosion that took down half the neighborhood and killed one and injured a small child. What's next, are the mines under plum going to collapse beneath us because of the excessive flooding we have been experiencing. We are held prisoners in our homes because of ridiculously high property taxes, so high in fact, that if we move to a neighboring home just like our own in the same neighborhood, our taxes will reset at full market value, as a result they will double, because they are still frozen at the 2002 Allegheny Assessment values, pending PA Supreme Court Rule. Currently, a new assessment is scheduled for March 2009. so be prepared for a doubling of your taxes, regardless of whether you move or not.
The Econonmy is in recession and we are so distracted that our own local Plum government is accosting our rights of the constition of the United States, and all this is happening right under our own noses. Currently, as of today, our local government violates our rights because we arent paying attention.
Come on folks wake up our federal constitution prohibits this lets protect out rights. Do you all care about your children/grandchildren future? Most folks believe never in America only we are losing our rights daily are both the local and federal levels. The citizens of Plum can change this ordinance, because it is illegal. You can sue for punitive damages for any type of spot check traffic stop. We all need to inform ourlocal council and canidates that you will not tolerate it a moment longer. The ordiance must be bannished. its the citizens right after all its our tax dollars that pays the local police force. The council members are elected by the people and should be the voice of the people. As a group Plum citizens can sue through class action, or privately. Begin calling your local mayor and councilman and demand the ordinance in writing so that you can see what kind of alarm has been created by these illegal traffic stops. Senior citizens are being harrassed at an alarming rate. Our own parents and children are being placed in harms way by irresponsible people. The Sixth Ammendment states that we "have the right to remain free from bodily harm and the threat thereof". Why are we being confronted by the confrontation of a police officer with a gun and tear gas and tazers the power to use them at their own discretion.
I can bet that most citzens arent even aware of what Plum council is doing because they too are tired of the same old drama over, over again. People dont get involved because of the BS/drama. If most of you all would move out of that small town then yould realize that your rights and the rights of your children, are being stolen from you minute by minute. You must not let them violate your rights any longer. If you value your teenagers lives or your senior parents health, you must stand up and say enough is enough. Do not let your loved ones be exposed to unecessary dangers from badcop sadcops. There are good cops, but many will not speak out against badcops. They will be persecuted. Trust me, I know this to be factual.

I think we have more important things to worry about than the cops taking home a drunk teen. Like our infrastructure self-destructing.
No need to worry. We have one of the best if not the best police chief in the state. With our NEW chief and Mayor, Rich Hrivnak, in command we could not be in better more competent hands. Other communities should be so lucky.
Thanx For Getting Involved!
Glad to see the new Chief & Mayor are getting the drunks off the road!
Has our Country lost the very principles it was founded for? Do we the people really have the rights our forefather's spent so much of their time and effort giving us? People have forgotten the time, not to mention, the reason, our Country was formed in the first place. Hard working, middle and low class men, got together and risked their lives, to form a union, of the people and for the people. When these men put their signature on our Decleration they signed away their lives.
Imagine, signing a documen with the fear of being hung at any moment, for committing Treason. Thomas Jefferson expresses the importance of Independence and states the wrongful actions done by Great Brittian, in detail. So many of the issues recorded in our Declaration, are issues going on today, right here in our own community. I speak mostly of the Drug Task Force. Although their cause is just, their actions in doing that cause are not. They treat people as if they are above them and every law. I myself have heard them degrade others including myself. I have wittnessed the violation of rights. When the Task Force is confronted, they give responses like, "you have no rights", "we don't care", "prove it", "it's your word against mine".
How does that make them any better than the criminals they are intended to bring down? I say, it doesn't. I say, it's time that we the people of today, take a stand, tell our stories. If we don't than nothing that lead up to the Declaration of Indepence has any meaning or value.
Ok,Plum Came up with an ordinance that violates people's rights at traffic stops,Why can't a copy of the ordinance be sent to your local state represenative, the news, the state attorney general, and anybody else that might be able to do something about it? The more it gets out,the more likely it would be easier to shoot it down

Miller, why don't you just move? You have some good thoughts, but you are very disgruntled.
Plum police can pull me over any time they want. I have nothing to hide. If you are not guilty, then you should not be concerned. For the innocent...if you see those flashing lights, just think I did nothing wrong and it is just one step in getting the drunks, crackheads, and criminals off of our streets.
What you said does make sense Dave but if it was any other police force, I wouldn't have a problem with it either but as long as the cop is an honest cop. I really do not trust this police force that we have in Plum and I don't think I am alone on that one.
I just feel as if the Police force has been cleaned up. Don't get me wrong, ten years ago I would have been concerned. But most of the trouble has been removed. You would have to be a total idiot if you decided to flex your muscles and abuse your power as an officer. You don't think Federal officials still have a watchful eye on the department..? I'm surprised they even took the initiative to enact an ordanance like this..
