Congrats to the Plum High School Robotics Team

The Plum High School Robotics Team traveled to the National Robotics competition in Miami last week. Their robots--Aftershock and Shockwave II--placed second and third in a field of 70 competitors!
They had a combined 11-2 record! The competition tests the ability of the students to build a robot that can outmanuever and outpower the competitor. The goal is to have a stronger, more durable robot. The robot must withstand the impact as well as be an offensive weapon. All robots are student-designed and assembled with the assistance of manufacturing corporations who serve as advisors to the team.
Jennison Corporation; Respironics; Apogee Corporation; Westinghouse Electric; and the University of Pittsburgh Manufactoring Assistance Center helped Plum High School achieve their success. The team was comprised of teacher Rick Volker, students Anthony Petricca, Alex Udanis (driver/captain), Joe Kotvas, Allen Thompson and Cody Harris.
