District, bus drivers reach agreement

Plum Borough School District and its bus drivers have reached a tentative contract agreement, Donna Meanor, president of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1595, said Wednesday night. Meanor said the five-year tentative agreement was reached after 6 1/2 hours of negotiations yesterday, the Pittsburgh Trib reports.

Why do we even need unions? Not like they are going down
a dirty coal mine. Unions have given us PAT Bus service
drink taxes, slashed routes, fare increases etc. Is this
in our future? Being a bus driver isn't a career that
deserves a bloated paycheck. Kids used to WALK to school.
Think of all the money the district could save.
