I moved from California about a year and a half ago. I found the area and the people wonderful. But I must say that the rising tax and shady politics is enough to drive people from the area. As if the taxes were not high enough, the council proposes raising them some more. Crazy. I thought California's leadership had issues, but I have learned that Pennsylvania is actually worse. The council raising high taxes higher, the legislature giving themselves raises and then defending them, the casino assignment process where slots must be bought through a couple of licensed dealers (monopoly) who I can only assume won those licenses based solely on merit (ha), etc. I look forward to some positive change and hope the already high taxes are not raised higher.
