Bio
I started my life in Oakmont, but by age three my parents decided they wanted to live in the "country". So we moved to Milltown Road in Plum Borough, and man, did it feel like country! As a youngster, the country was great. I hiked all over the area. My friends and I were told there where Indian caves in the area, so we looked for them on a regular basis, but without success. I took the school bus to Renton Elementary School, then attended the combined junior/senior high school on double sessions. The new Plum Borough Senior High School was completed in the summer of 1960. Our class of 1963 became the first to complete all three senior grades at that facility.
My enjoyment of the country ebbed during the teen years. Boring...living in the sticks...nothing to do....had to be driven anywhere and everywhere.
After graduating PSHS, I looked towards Florida for a college. I ended up at the University of South Florida, which, at the time, was a small school of about 5000, compared to the enrollment today, which is over 35,000.
I'll be retiring in two years, and I'm looking forward to coming back to the "country", at least for the summer months. Kinda backwards, isn't it? Mosy folks live in Pa., then retire to Florida. I've spent most of the life in Florida, now want to come back to Plum...we'll see!
